Morality and other nations

   Well, the most recent illegal immigration rallies were held and morality raised its head. Did all those illegals break the laws of free speech, rallying together or did the police?  Is the very fact that illegal immigrants break our American laws immoral? And what about this stuff about sanctuary cities for lawbreakers? Moral or immoral? How bout this ongoing generational war against Islamofascism? Moral or immoral? Sec. Rice having lunch with an Iranian then a Syrian diplomat. Moral or immoral? And who makes the rules on which to either debate these issues or just drop the whole shebang? Do nations have a responsibility for their own citizens or are open borders God's way? And what God are we talking about? Hindu gods, Allah, the Biblical God, our inner god?????  Does America even have a moral right to have control over its own borders or should we just allow anyone , including Al Queda , to just roll into our nation? Who are we to declare our sovereignty? Who are we Americans to say that our ways are righteous? Note that nowadays, the universities, the varied liberal churches are asking those questions and coming up with answers that do not look like anything our Judeo-Christian American heritage, worldview, or history aver.  OK, the times , they are a changing. But, so much that America cannot operate to control its own destiny and now has to give into every foreign, alien, multicultural idea of morality which will weaken our resolve to keep our uniqueness as Americans, Christians, and policy of legal immigration with a historical foundation that resembles the truth not some fairy tale of ideological liberalism ????!!!

Gop Bloggers et al

Have you ever heard of Gop Bloggers.com?  How bout Wizbang.com? Or Rassmussen .com? If you wanted to keep up to date on faith, morality, societial issues, culture, economics, business, labor, military issues, you have  so many choices that the Net provides that one wonders why everyone in the USA doesn't take advantage of all these blogs and sites. It seems that many studies today show that the American people are not really interested in political issues until they are 'brainwashed' by the MSM on topics such as health care, Medicare, Social Security, and of course, war. Americans seem to want to be isolationist and when information comes to them which bother those ideas, they get frustrated and tend to take any , all simplistic answers given to them mostly by the liberal wing of the information media. More and more Americans seem to be turned off by politics, campaigns, elections and anything which gets them to think, analyse , sacrifice or persevere. More fads, more entertainment, more time for group think, more time for politically correct thinking which tends to keep them secure from any type of long term participation in a tough choice seems to be the tendency of the American people today. I clicked into GOP Bloggers.com today on election issues. Why? I wanted to see just what they had on issues and candidates. I wonder how many Americans will even bother to deal with issues and candidates unless those all promise much security domestically, welfare, more money in the pocket and absolutely no sacrifice on foreign affairs. More and more, this looks like Gibbons' Fall of the Roman Empire scenario. Or even a Biblical Last Days scenario. Who knows? But, at least I pray that people will want to keep up on everyday issues and clicking into the blogs I mentioned would at least be a start!

Should the majority rule when it faces evil?

  After viewing the votes in the House and Senate on not funding American troops for war and then demanding a time table to withdraw by this Oct., I was wondering if that poll showing now 75% of Americans wanting out of Iraq is fair, moral , just and correct. Of course, all of it could be. But I doubt it. From many with no moral clarity and understanding of good and evil, getting out of Iraq and isolating America makes sense. After all, death is not pretty and war is filled with death. Better to get out and yes, surrender, because 3000 plus deaths is enough to spend against stopping some terrorists who we may never get over here anyway. Personally, I find that rationale inane. The reason war and this war against Islamofascism is so tough , over morals, good and evil and life and death, is Americans like Europeans want all matters settled immediately so everyone can go back to do what they want without interference. The days of sacrifice should be over according to this view. And anyhow, who are we Americans to say Islamofascism is evil, Al Queda is evil, Hamas is evil ? Did we not create them, say these people??? Well , duh, no. The fact is this militant brand of Islam is evil , is murderous and will kill every Israeli, , Brit, American, Canadian it can if these nations do not allow Islam, the one of the 6th Century under the Mahdi and Caliphate, as the controlling force.  Americans do not like war and it has been many years since they fought a long war with lots of casualities, Nam, and of course, WWII. This war has had relatively few killings but we can see the length of the time that folks want to fight nowadays and 5 years is just too long for them. One wonders whether what they will be like when 5-10-15 years from now, these are every day affairs in the homeland? Will any American see evil and call it evil? The majority rule in America has been sacrosanct. But, one wonders if America will simply accept evil as a way of life on all fronts, domestically as well as in international relations. Will Biblical morality simply fade away? This is a serious issue and people should be determining this whether they are in the majority or not!

Spoil just the child???

   There is a study now extant on Fox News.com which says,   'Spare God, spoil the child'.  What a great title. But it should have gone on to the fact that to disallow God of the Biblical thesis also spoils adults and anyone in between. People seem to  be healthier, happier, and have abundant lives even if they are poorer than the average American. Look at the renewal and revivals that are happening in Latin America and Africa.  Now when one is looking at cultural, economic and even political freedom, history shows us that in Biblical Judeo-Christian nations, these levels promote liberty and access to the power of God.Even free enterprise capitalism has prospered in those type of nations. America and England are two such examples. Of course, democracy usually does better in that type of heritage too. One wonders why so many Americans nowadays seem convinced that free enterprise is not , NOT the best system for us. There are many new found socialists in America even if they do not know it. They love it for security, the welfare state and the nanny government.  Though two polls like Barna and Gallup say that many many Americans believe in God, one wonders what God are they believing in ?????  Since gangs with youth are increasing, crime in large cities like Philadelphia is increasing, since child abuse seems to be increasing and since Hollywood, Hip Hop seems to be influencing so many of our kids with or without video games and MTV, the study does seem to imply that if parents introduced the God of the Bible to their kids at a young age, better things would happen to the entire family. Of course, it would help if those same parents were imbued with the Biblical values and salvation they need to lead their own kids!

Forgive and then do something

   If one is from a Biblical background, a Judeo-Christian heritage, forgiveness is one character trait that Jesus demands from a believer.  On a personal level that is hard but it can be done with God's strength. On an international level, one can forgive the horrors of a dictatorship but it is really really really hard; ala the Nazis, Communists and now the Islamofascists. I have a new wrinkle on this. One must pray for their personal enemies, say that character that is always hurting you with words, attitudes , motives and just plain silly non-thinking. You then can, if prompted, actually renew a relationship and carry on with life. It can be done though it is difficult with some high maintenance people. Still, Jesus does it for 6 billion people a day so one is apt to be a bit humble when one tries to stay above the fray and do nothing. Non-forgiveness usually hurts even the hurt if it is not practiced. On an international , political, cultural level, one can actually forgive and not forget. I don't mean get even. I mean stand up for the truth, the facts, the good over the evil if it goes that far.  Praying is a powerful weapon and joining groups to have an impact to redo legislation, get good laws, lawyers, jurists, etc is a must because one person is pretty powerless against a huge bureaucratic monopoly. One can also support our military when they fight evil, send them things, pray for them and uplift their families. One can even pray for Harry Reid and other people who seemingly undermine that same military and at the  same time can forgive him and flood his office with mail without malice to show him the way. One can do that to any politician as if you do it with prayer, forgiveness, you can actually tell him or her the truth in , yes, love.

Life and death in the USA

   The media is alive with scorn for the new SCOTUS decision on partial birth abortion. It is alive with fear and hatred over the need for even more restrictive gun laws in the wake of the horror of the kooky Korean killer at Va. Tech in Virginia. Gun control is a huge failure in most states. Carry laws in fact seem to protect the public when killers or robbers try to invade their personal space on any level. Fla. and Ga. seems to bear that out. The facts and stats by John Lott seem to show that gun laws and gun free zones actually help nutty murderers and other thugs to use their ill gotten guns against the public. PC ideas have kept the American public in fear and frustration from protecting themselves. It is PC to allow women to destroy the fetus almost now at any time. So, the SCOTUS today actually helps protect both mother and fetus from partial birth abortion. It upheld the ban that the Bush Admin. put forward in 2003.   Rush on his radio show made a cogent comment that actually banning PC malarky would do more to protect our rights and our safety than gun bans or allowing more abortions to occur. He is dead right on. BTW, Franklin Graham, said that Satan was behind the evil of this killer in Va. He is dead right on and evil is a spirtual as well as a choice made by evil people without values that are imparted by the Judeo-Christian world view that Biblical Jews and Christians aver. The PC crowd will howl over this but Graham , Lott, Rush, and I am correct in saying without God, one believes and tries anything. Even murder.

Free speech for whom?

   By now we all know about the Imus affair and the Rutgers team. What is weird is that free speech seems to have taken a blow but so does the idea of integrity, class, politeness, manners and acceptance. The race hustlers such as Sharpton and Jackson are indeed hypocrites as they have allowed the Rappers, the Hip Hoppers and the rest of Black Culture stars get away with using inappropriate language, foul allusions to people and women especially along with policemen and people of morals in lyrics and interviews. So now the Left is off on its PC attack against free speech if it is used against the Left's protected classes, people, stars, and culture. Soon, mark my words, it will be seen that the Left will be blasting Conservative Christians if they stick up for Christian morality, culture, heritage and the person of Jesus Christ. Even in church. Wait and see.  Things and events and sayings that we know are awful and sinful will be accepted by the PC Culture watchers while things and events and sayings we know have Biblical acceptance will be outlawed and shunned. Wait and see. In the middle is the poor black communities which face horrid problems other than rock lyrics. They face illigitmacy, crime, gangs, welfare problems, lack of jobs and housing and much of it is caused by playing the victim as well as discrimination. The black communites actually believe that Sharpton and Jackson will speak for them in improving their lot not realizing that their own infrastructure and cultural icons have feet of clay! And btw, where is free speech for people who want to improve the lives of all Americans even if it may torch some sacred ideas and culture which no longer apply in logic and fact in those communities? We shall see if real debate over all these issues is allowed or whether leftist PC status is put forward as the only groundwork and game rules for that debate.

Victims??

   I think it is interesting that in this Easter season, now over for the stores and most of the public, PC groups are taking the time to corner the market on attention.  Whether it Islamic rebels here in the USA and of course in the Middle East, or racial, ethnic, or gender groups anywhere, the media loves to make victims out of all our people. The Biblical God says that we are not either Jew or Gentile, Greek or Roman, free or slave, but equal in God's eyes if we are in His family. And yes, there are truths that are not PC. The Biblical God is the only real God. Not Allah, not any Hindu idol but God the King of the Universe as Jeffrey Hunter prayed when he played Jesus in the old King of Kings movie. There are Leftist favorite groups in the world today as long as they are not of the Judeo-Christian heritage and spiritual status. Liberal PC nomenclature rules the day nowadays. But in God's economy, being a child of God,means that one is born again in the name, spirit, and blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ. It does not pertain to multicultural PC viewpoints. This will offend the Left and liberals as it always does. But, true love means to tell the real truth about God and His love and outreach to all people of all races, genders, and ethnic backgrounds who will repent of their sins, depend by faith in the life ,death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The only victims we know are those enslaved by their sins, the world's allure, and demonic delusion that keeps them from a full life in the name of the Biblical God, Jesus Christ.

Connecting the dots

As I write this now for a second time, since I fouled it up, my age expanded to 101!! LOL No, I am 68 but I have been a conservative since I was 15. Bill Buckley was my mentor. I was a carnal Christian(if that is the nomeclature that applies) until the early 1970's. Then I became what people call, born again by Jesus' blood and Sprit. I was always interested in history, got my MA in History then my MDIV in Ministry. I have been a political junkie since my youth. But, as I age, I connect the dots of faith, facts , family, and fundamentals of historical truth. When I was a kid, my grandmother took me to the UN and in 1948, I saw the debate on Israel  and Indonesia becoming free accepted nations in the UN.  Odd that one state was Islamic and one , of course, based on Judiasm and the Hebrew language. For years , the Left in this nation with its idealistic silly youth brigades, profs and the groups of the modern DemParty seemed to always blame America instead of its international enemies. The 1960's was that high point of finger pointing and riots against American heritage but the Cold War saw many fellow travelers, useful idiots, and dupes all coming from the Left in this nation, supporting not the USA but Red Russia and Red China and Red Cuba. Oddly, nowadays, the same bunch support our own enemies from the Islamofascist parts of the globe. Morality seems to be at odds with the Left and Right in this nation. And that has not changed much. Viewpoints of what is American history and Constitutionality divides the nation. We have this odd red and blue state divide. Israel still is another dot to connect as it is still around just like the Bible reported in prophecy. Nowhere does the USA come up in prophecy but Iraq and Iran do, odd that! The same type of problems that divided us during the Cold War are around today. Moral codes are different. Amorality seemingly rules and can focus on its affinity with our enemies. Yet, supposedly 91% of Americans believe in some type of God. 76% of Americans believe that Jesus actually rose from the dead! Wow. That is surprising nowadays. As I keep connecting all the dots of faith , fact and history, I find myself wondering if I will be around when Israel is really the focal point of world history? Will there be a WWIII or are we there now as I believe? And just what does prophecy have to do with all these dots anyhow? Funny that around the Easter time, people find all sorts of reasons to question Christianity but not its enemies. Sort of like the old Roman Empire , huh? Well, April 8, tomorrow, Sunday, is Resurrection Day. Celebrate it friends. If the dots keep getting connected, one never knows how long in America or in fact the world, this Day will be celebrated freely as it is nowadays. Happy Easter.

Leadership?

 Are you not amazed how poor our leadership in politics and even in religion and the media today ? Well, I am not. The fact that our Speaker of the House is in an enemy Islamofascist terrorist nation undermining our military and our war on terrorism by breaking the Logan act, will not  be mentioned by the Liberal Media is just disgusting. Then too in the last few day, so called liberal Christians round the Globe are telling listeners that Christ is not the only way to salvation: a British priest in the Anglican Church was mouthing that inanity as well as some of the magazines that always do this round Easter time. The American people are crying out for leadership that is honest, strong, unflappable, and will stand up for our values, our heritage our Judeo-Christian foundation. Now, when a recent poll says that 91 % of Americans believe in God, one wonders just what that means. Still, if that group would start looking at the facts behind those beliefs perhaps we would have a better idea of leadership we don't want. Amoral leadership is probably not wanted when people look inside of their hearts, minds, and emotions. The nutcases that foment hatred on their blogs seem to think that they are the majority nowadays. And when the MSM does indeed still brainwash Americans against their own nation it is sad. What is more scary, is that type of mentality allows our public open to some demagogue who will promise them everything. That does not bode well for America. In most of the world, this mentality is already in place. Dark times ahead but we can still prevail as a culture, free and libertarian if we remember our real heritage and our real foundations.

Atonement and the End Times

It seems strange that after 20 years at this small church , Abundant Hope, in Downey, Ca. as a pastor, I am moved to write articles on scary subjects like The End of Days. I did preach a few years ago through Revelation and spent a long time on prophecy et al. I did not come to a conclusion in my studies and my sermons that there was a solid Rapture time . In fact, I concluded that we all , if alive then during The End of Days, would have to face the music as far as persecution, devasting natural disasters actually planned and carried out by God Himself, and have to face a world deceiver the media even knows as The AntiChrist. Well, today, as I wrote on the church blog at http;//phillyfanatic.spaces.live.com/? I preached on The Vicarious Atonement of Christ for all of humanity's sins. Throughout my examples , I could see in my mind's eye, the books that I picked up recently, the series by Jenkins and LaHaye, Left Behind. I never mentioned them in my examples but I made it clear that now is the time to make a faith decision for Christ before it is too late. I'm 68 and God has put up with me. Who knows how much time any of us have to make an eternal decision for Christ by not serving two masters, the world and Christ but just faithing to serve Christ and humanity? I have no idea when or if the Raputre will take place. The Left Behind series thinks they know. Their point is , we are so close to the end of time that no one should be cavalier in their attitudes on whether to believe Jesus' claims or not. It is too late for such tomfoolery here on April Fools Day. Only Satan wants to make fools out of humanity. God does not. You may smile or reject this claim of Jesus. But, what if you are wrong?  I have no idea whether anyone from the church , here on townhall ever reads these meanderings. But, if they do, the most important decision in all of your life is to make or reject Jesus' offer of freedom from personal sin, salvation the Bible calls it, and eternal life. Don't put off this decision. Out here in SoCal, the freeways kill people every day. Scary? You bet and I hope I did scare you. Frankly, I am in awe and scared of God's love, power, grace and salvation. How about you?

Glenn Beck and Left Behind

 Last night, Fri. Mar. 30, Glenn Beck , an astonishing conservative Christian 'allowed' on CNN, presented an hour discussion of Jenkins and LaHaye on their Left Behind series. First of all this was amazing since CNN is obviously Leftist in its approach and does not believe in any Christian prophetic utterances. Second, Beck, being allowed on CNN is refreshing. We all know that Talk Radio has lots of conservatives and Christians on it, but CNN????? Wow. God is amazing! The point is that these books have sold 60 million copies. That's a lot for books nowadays since most of our public doesn't read much and gets its news, religion, culture from TV, CD's et al. Third, the stories are fast, adventurous and packed with Biblican references on the End of Days. That alone is scary for most people on earth. The Iranian thug that runs that Islamofascist nation also believes in the End Times with the 12th Madhi and even some liberal Christians love that viewpoint. Beats me that those leftists think LaHaye is nuts but the 'thug' is smart and generous!!! So much for so called liberal Christianity. The End Days include something called the Rapture which is mentioned in Thessalonians in one verse, 'raptueo'. Personally, after preaching on all of these prophecies and Revelation over my 20 years as a pastor, I don't quite see it the way Jenkins and LaHaye do. Still, their point is that Jesus is coming back again and wants people to be in His love, grace, salvation, and forgiveness. That is the loving thing that no other religion gives and Jesus says salvation is in Him alone and eternity awaits in Heaven for the faithful believer. Sure, the books are scary but they are a loving reminder that someday, the End Days will actually happen and perhaps sooner than anyone expects. How people face that reality really does have eternal consequences. Happy Palm Sunday to all and I am preaching Sun. on The Atonement. Pretty scary, huh???

Hell

 In the last few days, the Pope has brought out the Biblical idea of an eternal Hell. Well, the bloggers and pudits went wild. Hell was a concept out of date ranted the Left and the religious liberals. Even Mainline Prots denied the concept of an eternal Hell. After all, God is love et cet and ad nauseum. Still, the Pope, many Evangelical Protestants and some bloggers would not relent. At the Easter season, this is actually a good topic to revive. There is after all the Good News of Jesus' life, death and resurrection for all believers. This represents the Biblically alert know , the forgiveness of humanity's sin and the end of eternal death if faith, reliance upon the life, death, person and resurrection of Jesus Christ are indwelt in one's heart, mind, body, soul, emotions, and spirit by said faith. And yes, there is the Bad News of Jesus' life, death and resurrection. The Bible avers that unbelief , continual sin , rebellion against the Holy God Creator of the Universe and Savior, Jesus Christ results in not only bodily death on this earth's dimension but an eternal separation, cold, alone, sentient spiritual life from that Light and Saving God in a dimension the Bible calls Hell. I believe it. In fact, this Sun. in Downey, Ca. I am preaching on the Atonement of Jesus for Palm Sunday. You may reject this idea, this Jesus, this concept of Hell. But, what if you are wrong?

Islam and illegal immigration

Yesterday was the celebration of a year ago illegal immigration rally. The Roman Catholic Church has had some mixed feelings on this issue. So has every church in the NAE, those who are liberal Christian denominations, some independent churches and many commentators. A like issue is just how do Muslim immigrants do in our nation or any Western nation as good citizens? Do they assimilate? Do Hispanic illegals assimilate? A priest in Santa Ana , Ca. has asked his people to fast and pray for illegals. How? That they be allowed into the nation in a humane way. Hmmmmmm! Is anyone praying that we allow more Muslim immigrants into our nation? John Howard, the leader of Australia has said yesterday, that all illegals, Muslim or not, who break the law in his nation will be punished. Wow! Doesn't sound very compassionate , huh? But, is he ever correct. Illegal is illegal. Now as to Muslim Americans. On 60Minutes last night, Sun. the 25, a Muslim gave an interview which should wake up every religious person in America and round the world. He warns America and his fellow Muslims in America, that they better warn, speak out against terrorism or face extinction. I agree.  Now as a Christian pastor and a history teacher, I agree because I know the history of Islam and its terror campaigns over the centuries. Until we see illegal immigration never excused and until we see Muslim Americans wake up to the fact that many of their fellow Muslims (the Islamofascists) will destroy them , our nation, and any freedom they enjoy in this great nation of freedom, this nation is going to be in constant turmoil and threatened with destruction. When you have two attacks on our American heritage, freedoms, religious freedoms threatened by two groups of people who have not been reared in America, we have real problems with which to deal. And silly idealism , worthless compassion, unrealistic views that evil does not exist, will not help settle these problems. Europe's disintegration should be a warning to all Americans and believers in the Judeo-Christian Worldview.

Nowhere to be seen

 So many Gopers who are Christians have not seen Amazing Grace. I just saw the top 10 film grossers and guess what?  Amazing Grace is nowhere to be seen. If the Christians in America want to see some impact on our culture, politics, economics et al, they must be as brave as Wilburforce. They must speak out, enact legislation, blog, go on TV and even enter into film making. Why? Because unless they do, the Judeo-Christian ethic-ethos will disappear from our culture. Franky Schaffer once wrote that Christians should be the best artists, writers, film makers possible. That not only impacts society but it will also show that God cares for our entire world and all of its actions, jobs, and avocations. In politics, the GOP has a large Evangelical Base. But, now people are debating whether the GOP needs it. Boy Howdy of course it does. Where do believers go? Into the socialist-pacifist-Democrat Party? Of course not. That Party hardly recognizes anyone with a Christian worldview. When will Christians finally realize that they are to be in the world but not of it? That means that they are to do the best job they can in every field to impact society for the good. The more not less impact that the Judeo-Christian Worldview has on our nation, the better  it will become.
