Well, I love preaching and teaching about the Bible and the Lord Jesus. But, this overall emphasis in the political realm on religion is beginning to overwhelm the electorate and turn them off. Michele Malkin and Thomas Sowell and Dennis Prager have all made these points. So has a secularist named Paglia who is really a pretty good analyst on society and culture. No liberal Democrat, and that is what makes up the Party nowadays, is ever asked about their religious stands, evolution, the Virgin Birth, Satan or anything else. Perhaps the liberal media knows the Dem leaders simply are not filled with that type of theological spirit or Godly values. I don't know. But, it is tiring that Mitt, Huck and even Fred are portrayed as religious nutters by the media. Rudy is a lapsed Catholic but all they ask him on the issues is about adultery and marriages. Where are the issues? The Republicans have the high ground on issues but you would never know it since they aren't really asked about those issues in a format in which they could discuss their political values via policy on issues like borders, Islamofascism, tax and spending, jurist selections. Those issues and policies are all, ALL different from the other party. But, these debate formats are so narrow that no one can answer good questions on comparisons and differences with more time. It is time for the candidates to stop the religious pandering and tell voters how they differ or agree on the issues that mean something to American voters. I do know that as I look at the candidates, the values they all share are still good enough to be Presidential. Ads and going on Talk Radio will help all of them when they take the time to do so.
