Well, here we have had already, many debates politically. But, I am amazed that the American voter over the last 70 years still seems to vote insanely since they keep getting the same result. Think about it. For nearly 70 years Labor, Hispanics, blacks, other ethnic communities and Liberals all, have voted Democrat thinking that that Party 'cared' for them. Yet here we are all those years later and they are still whining about the same things they whined about in the 1930's. They, in fact, have become more anti-military, more anti-American, and actually more anti-God though for election purposes we have liberal candidates actually begging evangelical conservative churches and pastors and congregations to vote for them! And what do they offer? The same old pacifist socialist agenda except now they say it is what Jesus would want for America. A nice theological twist that! Of course, the Republicans have had the Moral Majority for 27 years on their side but that is changing a bit. Yet, when one looks seriously at the Parties, there are huge differences even in moral views, values, worldview. Both parties want to expand their TENT. How far that goes will determine who wins in '08. Will Republicans choose a guy who says abortion is choice, gays should be allowed in the Party and is willing to expand the Party's tent so he can perhaps win some Purple or Blue state? The Dems are trying to get morality voters with one woman telling us how her Methodist background and Billy Graham give her peace. What a real battle is going on! I have to say that as a pastor and history teacher I too have mixed feelings, thoughts and prayers on this election. But, I am also a conservative Christian. Frankly, I cannot see any socialist pacifist running this nation. Not one. But, then I don't want gross immorality to rule either. Still, like Captain Kirk of Star Trek, I want to win. This upcoming election may well be the most complex, confusing, and important one since I began voting in 1960.
