Did God bless the USA?

I was walking my dog as I do 3 times each day. She is very needy, an Aussie Boder Collie who gets my wife to do the same. Since she was injured very severely, we do it and love doing it too. I was born in America; in Philadelphia in 1939. My wife was born in Austria, in 1942. She had Nazis and Commies control Vienna as a child. Her father was consripted and shot by the Russians on the Eastern Front. Her brave mom brought her and brother over to America in 1959.  We have now been married for 27 years since our first marriages failed due to, well, sin but not in overt actions. We were forgiven. Jesus does that! So I was walking my dog and thinking of the beauty of my neighborhood. I was thinking of my life in the USA. Many Americans from the colonial days on have said that America was a city set on a holy hill. Many cynics today poo pooh all of this and call America Fascist, imperial, unfair. My view? Are these people nuts? Is the media and our pagan culture today crazy?  Yes, you bet they are. This nation has been blessed by the Creator with beauty, freedom, liberty, inventions, a Bill of Rights, a wonderful Constitution, many great neighbors, friends, families made up of every ethnic, religious, and color groups in the world. Some of this is good, some is not.  But, this nation has freedom, freedom and more freedom. There are also models of restraint, rules, trends, heritage, history, language (at least until our whole culture is changed by either war, illegal immigration, or natural disasters) which try to keep us all together. Our heritage has been largely until the last few years, the Judeo-Christian Western Worldview. It is a great view and culture and religious tradition. It promotes freedom, forgiveness, repentance, a new start for losers and winners, grace, even salvation. No other worldview or nation provides this. That is why we are flooded by people who want those blessings. My gripe nowadays is just how many people are bitter, angry, anti-God, anti-American, anti-freedom, anti-capitalistic, anti-democratic. Frankly, they are ingrates. They are people who don't just walk their dog and see the beauty, the liberty, the inventions, the lifestyles, the love of a Creator God who for some reason blessed this nation. Those days may indeed be coming to an end. For one reason, God is not pleased with unthankfulness. Ingrates are not appreciated by humanity and not just humanity!
