Faith, politics, salvation, the whole ball of wax!

In our secular society today, it is very hard to discuss and impart faith in one's own family notwithstanding the call by Jesus to spread the Gospel to the world!!! One's own family may have stoppened ears just because they know you too well. And what about the kids? In our divided culture, there are streams of humanism, liberalism, conservatism and all other isms pounding the consciences of all Americans as well as the world's population. Sure we live in the Post Modern World today, but the call and salvation of Jesus never changes. The problem is, will prayer, fasting, and other religious disciplines open the ears and eyes of those we live with and love? Or should our prayer be for the Lord to send someone who can actually inter-act with youngsters, family members who are either Boomers, Busters, or even Yippies? Just what should the strategy be? Seeker-friendly? Kinship groups? The time is coming for many of us in our lives that our kids are no longer kids; they are 45-50 and choices have to be made because consequences are there on a daily level and basis. No one is a 'spring chicken' anymore in some families. Those times years ago on the beaches , for me, of South Jersey in Cape May are no more. I could wile my way on the beach, swim, flirt, even work. The times were golden. But, now supposedly, my wife and I are living in our 'golden years'. Does that strike a chord? If we are in those years, what about our friends or kids who have not made their ETERNAL CHOICE? It is hard enough to convince people to elect the right politicians on issues such as tax cuts, war against Jihadism, Court appointees, abortion, school prayer and school choice. It is far harder nowadays to get people in America to make their ETERNAL CHOICE since they still think they are back at the beach!!!
